About a third of the way into the sunday ride my bike started to steam. Strange as I run it on ice cool, which doesn,t boil. It continued to steam for the rest of the day on & off without overheating [helped by a river crossing & some muddy puddles] until half way across the last lane when it boiled the clutch fluid. I had stopped to open a gate & had no clutch to set off. With a bump start [ thanks Steve ] I set off back to the van without stopping. Stripped the bike down tonight & found a hole in the top of the thermostat housing ? Drained the engine oil [smelt off] did the clutch fluid as well to bee safe. New part ordered, back on the trails soon.
